How to encapsulate 50 years of the Glebe Society’s activism and engagement? It hasn’t been easy, but a timeline has been produced that chronicles the Society’s efforts and achievements since its formation in 1969.

Visitors to the Exhibition were met by a large graphical representation of the Glebe Society’s history spanning the years 1969 to 2019.

See at a glance how the Glebe Society’s innovative ideas and strategic action stemmed the tide of so-called progress and saved Glebe from rampant over-development.

The timeline is based on research carried out by Neil Macindoe, Jan Macindoe, Virginia Simpson-Young and Dorothy Davis. This mainly involved trawling through 50 years’ worth of Bulletins.
